A quick comment on Clemens

For most of my life, I’ve never really thought anything one way or the other about Roger. But, unfortunately, it seems that he has decided to let his name go down in ignominy. After thinking about it, though, I’m not all that bothered by this. He’ll always be a Yankee in my mind and this is the type of hubris I associate with the entire Yankees organization.

Oh, Roger. As a die-hard Red Sox fan, I love nothing more than to see you sweat under Congressional Pressure.

You, sir, are the man who dominated my childhood. You put up incredible numbers throughout the 80’s and early 90’s with the Red Sox. And then you sat on your tail and became a .500 pitcher for four seasons, left town, became a Blue Jay, and pulled off two back to back Cy seasons before going to the Yankees (which, for the record, you said you’d never do.)

Then, when you were announced as a member of the All-Century team at the All Star game, you walked on wearing a Yankees cap. Sir, you’d been a member of the Yankees for less than five months.

You are the epitome of the soulless, money-grubbing, joyless athlete that populates the Yankee roster. A hired gun. A man who’d throw his own grandmother under the bus for a cool million. Nothing pleases me more to see you under so much pressure.

One suggestion…if you make it into the hall, you’re going to have to decide which hat you wear inside: Red Sox, Blue Jays, Yankees, or Astros. Let me suggest this: wear a hat with a syringe laid over a dollar sign. Because those are the only teams you ever played for.

I don’t know what that word means either, but since u are a college graduate it must mean something important. I would say from his comments MADHATTR84 is a little angry. Someone please tell me, what is the score on this steroid thing. This NL person seems to feel like the AL is leading in this game. All I hear in Yankees, bluejays,Redsoxs. What other teams are involved. Just asking

  3. lung@fulbrightweb.org

what game? the steroid game? looks like SF took the title on that one, Baba, with the Yankees hanging close. By the way, what are you talking about? Did you forget to take your meds this morning?

  4. mlung@hotmail.com

i took my meds I was just interjecting a new train of thought. I completely lapsed on the SF connection and felt like the AL was ahead in the steroid issue. That’s why I have u there with that fast thinking brain to bring me back to the facts
