Padres’ Secret Unveiled

ryan webb jedi.jpgAll season long I’ve been asking myself: how does a team that cannot score runs continue to win as much as the Padres in 2010?

I thought the answer was excellent pitching.

WRONG.

If Ryan Webb is hangin’ with Yoda, then it’s a good bet that Mat Latos is hangin’ with Obi-wan… and Heath Bell is chillin’ with… Vader.

Hate me ‘cuz I can spin the double-bladed saber, just don’t hate me ‘cuz I”m right.

Peace,

Jeff

    You know Jeff,
The Rays have their own Yoda, or at least he looks like him.
Don Zimmer has been the wisdim and the experience that has hoved just left of the Rays dugout and thrown more than a few sage nuggets towards the cerebral Maddon.
Thank goodness they did not go the “Stargate” direction, or even the “Aliens” direction in their fandom over space-influenced movie and characters.
But with Matt Stairs back, they also have someone who will talk to Boba Fett.

Considering Darth Vader is the Padres’ ace, well, then, your answer’s right there, isn’t it?

Emma — Happy 4th to you too!
RR — Zim still has it, eh? I know and love the guy, but his crowning achievement will ALWAYS be boxin’ Pedro.
Cici — It all trickles down from there, eh? Remind me to stay away from the NL West.
RFB — Mmm. Trust in Yoda as your closer you will!
    Amy — Must’ve been a free agent… screw him.

Mimi — You’re right about that. Glad you’re a Yoda fan too. If you weren’t I’d be worried.
