Scrapbook This!

The fact that I am a complete and unparalleled baseball dork is no secret.

You know it.  I know it.  And the US American people know it.

Which is why I have no shame in admitting that I keep a rather odd notebook of newspaper clippings related to the game, peppered with creative doodles and instinctive comments when necessary.

Here is an entry from the other day:mark prior go away.jpg

The world cannot handle another Mark Prior comeback, just like it can’t handle another Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston reunion.

Enough is enough, people.  Let us move on.

Hate me.  Fine.  Just don’t hate me ‘cuz I’m right.

Happy Friday!

Aw, come on, ease up on the guy. I’d rather have him make his “comeback” there than do it tying up payroll on some major league roster. (There were actually Dodger fans I knew who advocated giving him a shot last year.) I was even thinking of going to a Flyers game next week to check him out, but he’ll probably be hurt by then.
Actually, Mark’s one of the nicer guys in baseball I know. I don’t have a problem with him playing here at this level. Seriously, what’s the problem? I even saw Bud Smith pitch a game in the GBL a couple of years ago, and Jose Lima enjoyed a stint there last year. It’s a great atmosphere and a good place for washed up pitchers.
Now if you wanna talk about making someone “go away” – start with Brett Favre.

Mike — Good point. Still, maybe that’s why I don’t watch wrestling.
    Peter — I hope so!
BBE — Except that Brett Favre is still at the top of his game. I mean, yeah, the retiring stuff is old hat, but the dude can play. Prior? Not so much.

Virginia — That IF is more ginormous than it is plausible, in my opinion.
    Jane — Agreed.
Santosis — I wholeheartedly disagree. Believe me, I ain’t no Baker fan, but have you ever watched Prior pitch? His mechanics are awful. Violent. He was an injury waiting to happen. And Baker had no choice… it was either pitch Prior and Wood and win or don’t pitch them and don’t make the playoffs.
