It’ll happen in due time, we just have to wait it out. With the deadline passing, I think the Cards made the right choice, because Pujols will still be negotiating with them after the season. Its not as if he issued an ultimatum, so it will end up being better for the Cards organization if he signs after the year where the deal may be smaller.

I still think Pujols will sign with the Cards but almost every Cub fan I know is drooling at the opportunity of him landing with the Cubs.

Have to disagree with Mike about Marvin Miller, who’s a hero to players everywhere. I’m sure Pujols will make a deal with the Cardinals just like Jeter did with the Yankees. Sometimes it just takes awhile. Hang in there.

My belief is if it was already going to happen, it would have happened. How much time was there to make it happen? He didn’t budge and I think it’s unrealistic to expect he will be worth the same amount of money in 10 years as he is today in the prime of his career. They had several months to work something out, and didn’t. I think it’s great he won’t allow it to be a distraction now, but it’s still going to be a distraction for the fans. Good luck with that.

Blue Eyes — I disagree. It’ll get done… but both sides need to feel the market out to come to a mutually beneficial decision. He said it again this week, “I want to be a Cardinal for life”, so yeah, I’m feelin’ like we’ll have pretty good luck with that 😉
